A Texas Wine Country Bachelorette Party

Whoever said there is a "wedding season" was wrong. Every season is wedding season, at least in my life, and I absolutely love it! I am obsessed with weddings, from witnessing the couple's vows, to tearing up the dance floor, to looking through my friends' wedding photos when they come in. I also really love bachelorette parties.

Last weekend I got to go back to Texas for the second time since we moved to California. Both Texas visits have been for wedding festitivies, and it makes me so incredibly happy that I am able to live in California but still celebrate with my friends.

This bachelorette party, tagged as #hayfoundherbae on Instagram, was for one of my oldest friends from high school and comprised my entire group of high school girlfriends, plus the bride's younger sister who is basically like a sister to the rest of us. It was a fabulous girls' weekend celebrating our friend, Hayley, who gets married to the man of her dreams on Feb. 27!

The maid and matron of honor did an incredibe job planning this bachelorette party. We stayed in adorable house in Fredericksburg, enjoyed our time together on Friday night, took a limo bus around Fredericksburg for a wine tour Saturday, and rounded out the weekend with more girl time and dance parties. It may have ended with some lost keys and a very kind, patient husband (not mine) driving four hours from Houston (we won't name names) to bring the spare key, but that's a minor detail.

The decor was spot on. From a festive set up complete with monogrammed coffee mugs, Texas coffee and ring pops to photos hanging and framed around the house, it felt like our own little home away from home.

We also played some games (one of my favorite aspects of bachelorette parties) that centered on the bride and groom. My favorite game was bridal Jeopardy where the bride had to think about how her groom answered the questions, and each category was different (e.g., It Takes Two, The Early Years, etc.). Hayley did a great job with some pretty tough questions (who was his favorite teacher?!).

Then there was the wine tour. As I mentioned, we had a limo bus pick us up at the house after a Secret Santa gift exchange (we are rarely all together around Christmastime, so we decided to use this as an opportunity to pick up one of our favorite traditions from high school). We visited four wineries, including Torre di Pietra, Hilmy Cellars, Compass Rose Cellars and rounded out the day at Becker Vineyards.

Prepping for our first tasting at Hilmy Cellars.

We ended our tasting at Hilmy with some time outside overlooking the property. If only I could have fit the barrels in my suitcase...

Live band setup at Compass Rose.

Creeping on the girls before our last stop!

We ate lunch at Compass Rose in addition to a tasting. Compass Rose was my all around favorite. The wine, food and scenery were all amazing.

Beautiful set-up at Compass Rose.

The whole group at Becker Vineyards. So thankful for these ladies.

We wanted our bachelorette to stand out, so she wore a white sweater, maroon skirt and booties, and the rest of us wore an all-black outfit with hunter green accessories (one of her wedding colors). I had been hunting down a leather jacket, and I found an adorable partially leather jacket and black cotton dress at Francesca's, paired with my favorite go-to TOMS booties and a long necklace with a hunter green stone.

There you have it! It was so much fun to celebrate Hayley and Austin's upcoming wedding in the heart of Texas with our best girlfriends. If you're newly engaged or planning a bachelorette party, I highly suggest considering wine country tours. You get the opportunity to do a lot of talking with one another, and we created more amazing memories to add to our list of unforgettable moments together.

UPDATE: We never found the keys. Their whereabouts will forever remain a mystery.
