HERSTORY
HerStory began with a few Facebook posts. Yes, Facebook posts. It was a typical day, and as I scrolled through my news feed, I stumbled upon three incredible updates back to back. Three different friends, three inspiring stories. And I thought to myself, these are stories that are worth sharing. All of our stories are worth sharing. I had the idea of starting a blog that would not only highlight my efforts to fine-tune and explore my own story—from fashion, to beauty, to intellect, to faith and beyond— but the stories of my friends and other women I come into contact with who are changing the world and inspiring others through their own stories. And thus, HerStory was born.
MY STORY
I am originally from Sugar Land, Texas, which is a suburb of Houston. I grew up in a family of five kids, and I was [un]lucky enough to be the middle child and youngest daughter. (Just kidding. I do consider myself to be very lucky.)
I graduated from Texas Tech University (wreck 'em!) in 2011 with a degree in public relations. From there, my career aspirations took me to Dallas, Detroit and San Francisco, where I had the opportunity to work for renowned PR agencies for a multitude of Fortune 500 companies.

For the past five years, I have had the privilege of serving my communities as a high school educator. I have mostly taught English, but I also taught Communication Applications and World Geography.

I value my experience as an educator and the relationships I forged both in the classroom and on the court and field (volleyball and softball coach), but I am thrilled to rejoin the PR ranks as I move forward in my professional career.

My husband and I got married on Nov. 22, 2014, and we have a son named Case and a daughter named Nora. We live in the Houston area with our kids and our two rescue pups, Pippa and Rosie.

Thank you for being here and taking the time to read through my blog!
