Recap: My first blogger event in San Francisco
Last night I had the honor of attending Threads' first San Francisco blogger happy hour, and I was thrilled to learn one of my favorite bloggers and biggest inspirations, Amanda Holstein, was going to be there to give free blogging advice--something I find extremely valubale at this stage of developing my blog. Not only is she a brilliant writer, a fashionista, and an overall inspiring figure for women, she is extremely kind. I was the first attendee to arrive (of course), so I was lucky enough to snag a significant amount of time with her, and we had a wonderful conversation about blogging, San Francisco, our dogs, and life in general. If you're not following her blog, Advice from a 20 Something, I highly recommend you do so.
I have attended blogger events before, but as a host, not as a blogger, so I had a slight idea of what to expect. Many bloggers brought friends with them (why didn't I think of that!?) but it actually ended up being beneficial for me to go solo because I was forced out of my comfort zone and introduced myself to more people than I would have had I brought a wingwoman.
If you don't know much about Threads, let me be the first to tell you about it. Basically, it's a styling app that allows you to browse looks and fashion sceanrios. Oftentimes when we shop, we're shopping for a specific reason--date night, holiday party, professional chic, etc., and Threads gets that. Threads wants to make it easier for you to shop styles you want through the inspiration of bloggers you love. Eventually you'll be able to shop from the app. I'll let y'all know when that capability is available. Life. Changing.
Last night was all about chatting, eating, drinking and learning about Threads. It was a great way for me to connect with local bloggers, Amanda and Threads. I still can't believe I've only been in California for three weeks and I've already had such amazing opportunities through Herstory. This just goes to show that hard work and persistence pays off. I am so excited for the opportunities ahead, and I hope you can be inspired to live out your goals that you've set for yourself, and I'd love for you to share those goals with me.

Blogger Q&A with Amanda. Seriously y'all, she is so kind and so helpful!
Sometimes working toward a goal that seems so out of reach can be intimidating, defeating and frightening, but attending Threads' happy hour with Amanda reminded me why I'm doing what I'm doing. Cheers to many adventures from here!
